Please consider the following pieces of information before signing up for this year's event.

  • The Merit Badge University is open to any registered Boy Scout. Cub and Webelos Scouts are not eligible to participate.
  • Cost is $5 per Scout per session. Three sessions are available. Some merit badge classes span across 2 or 3 sessions.
    • Session 1: Friday evening from 6:30 to 10:00 PM.
    • Session 2: Saturday morning from 8:30 AM to Noon.
    • Session 3: Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 4:30 PM.
  • Lunch is available from Noon to 1:00 PM. It costs $5 per person. Please register for this when registering for classes.
    • We will not be able to accommodate Scouts with special dietary needs. These Scouts should plan on bringing their own lunch.
  • New this year! Den Chief training is being offered during session 2.
  • Pre-requisites are required for many badges. They can be found by clicking on the more information link next to the name of a merit badge. If no pre-requisites are listed, please check back again in a few days. We are still waiting on this information from some instructors.
  • Two workshops will be held off-site. Please plan accordingly when signing up for these classes on Friday evening. Scouts should plan on bringing a signed "Blue Card" with them to off-site classes.
  • A snack bar and trading post will be available for Scouts to visit during breaks for classes occurring at Carmel High School. Select Merit Badge Pamphlets will be available for purchase.
  • "Blue Cards" will be provided to Scouts that register for a merit badge online by the registration deadline (except for Scouts attending classes off-site). Instructors will provide the "Blue Card" to each Scout in the appropriate class. Scouts that register at the door will be provided a "Blue Card" at the registration desk.
  • Refunds will only be made to those people that request one before the registration deadline. Please contact the event organizer for assistance.
  • In the event of inclement weather, this page will be updated with further information.

Partial Merit Badges

The purpose of the Del-Mi District Merit Badge University is to help Scouts along the advancement trail by allowing them to get a good start on a merit badge. The program is NOT designed for Scouts to earn every merit badge in each class they sign up for. Scouts that do not complete all of the requirements for a particular merit badge at the Merit Badge University will need to complete the badge with a registered merit badge counselor approved for that particular badge back at their unit. The merit badge counselor instructing the badge at the Merit Badge University may not be available to finish counseling the Scout. Per Boy Scouts of America regulations, scoutmasters, assistant scoutmasters, and merit badge counselors approved to counsel other badges are not allowed to sign off on partial merit badges. (A merit badge counselor approved to teach aviation and weather merit badges would not be allowed to sign off on a partial merit badge in dog care.) Unit leaders have a complete listing of district merit badge counselors to assist boys in completing partial merit badges. Scoutmasters may contact the event organizer for this listing from the district.
