2012 Hamilton County Breakfasts for Scouting Print E-mail

Scouting: Prepared. For Life.On behalf of the 33,000 youth involved in Scouting in Central Indiana, thank you for your financial support.

Today’s young people are challenged by violence, drugs, gangs and many other influences most of us never contemplated in our childhood. Scouting’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Members learn many positive values that they will carry with them for the rest of their life. In fact, a child that participates in Scouting for five or more years is:

  • 15% more likely to graduate from high school
  • 30% more likely to volunteer their time in the community
  • 40% more likely to put the interest of others ahead of their own
  • 50% more likely to have a leadership responsibility at their place of employment
  • Twice as likely to graduate from college

We hope that you will join us in supporting this worthy cause as we work to improve our communities.
