Del-Mi District Training Bulletin: Youth Protection Training Update This training bulletin is designed to keep you informed on training activities in the Del-Mi District.

Thanks to each of you for making a push at charter renewal time to ensure that the adult volunteers in your unit had completed youth protection training (YPT) within the past two years.  We especially appreciate your efforts in submitting a youth protection training certificate along with the other registration paperwork for those adults that were not currently registered.  Due to your efforts, 100% of volunteers in the Del-Mi District had a current youth protection training certificate at charter renewal time.  THANK YOU!

Youth protection training is valid for two years from the date of completion.  Many volunteers’ youth protection training has already expired since the charter renewal process wrapped up.  Rather than updating all volunteers training records at once this fall, we ask that you take the time now to review your YPT certificate to determine when your youth protection training expires.  If necessary, please logon to www.myscouting.org and complete the appropriate YPT course for your program in the E-Learning Center. 

While logged in to MyScouting, please ensure that your Membership ID number is recorded in your records by clicking on the “My Profile” link on the left-hand side of the page.  If you are unable to locate your Membership ID number, please contact the Crossroads of America Council at (317) 813-7125 and dial 0 for an operator to assist you. By providing your Membership ID number, your MyScouting account will automatically update your official Scouting records without having to submit a paper copy of the training certificate each time your complete a course.

Venturing Leaders, the Youth Protection Training found under the General, Cub Scout, and Boy / Varsity Scout tabs does not count towards the YPT requirement for Venturing leaders.  The non-Venturing training does not cover situations with both male and female youth participants.  You must complete the Youth Protection Training – Venturing Version in order to renew your registration as a Venturing volunteer.  It can be found under the Venturing tab in the E-Learning section of www.myscouting.org.  You may also request an in-house training session for your unit’s volunteers.
